Dont Forget to Register for our Opening Day Event Commodore’s Call August 2022 Thank you to the members of the club that have accepted Board and Officers positions. Without the help of the volunteers the club would not function. I would also like to thank Steve Churches for acting as the Returning Officer at our recent AGM and Kate for taking the minutes.

How To Session 21st July

Come along Thursday 21st July at 7.00pm for our second 'HOW TO' session, this time on 'Spinnaker Handling' presented by Michael Babbage and 'Starting Techniques and Strategies' with Mark Skelton. BYO refreshments.

Sailing Club Presentation Night This is set down for Saturday 21 May (election day) in the auditorium at the Wangi RSL Club with the evening commencing at 6pm.

Winter Yacht Sailing This commences on Saturday 30 April with the Achenar series (scratch start, spinnaker & non spinnaker) and alternates each week with the Commodores Cup (handicap start & non-spinnaker only). Please lodge your entries online via the club website.

1) Course changes – Discuss current courses and any suggested changes. 2) WASC running races without RCO control. Discuss possible alternatives including a) Light Board Starting / Cost/ Setup/ Operation ?? b) Race Q’s / Operation / Accuracy / Management after racing? c) Rostered Starting RCO from competitors in each series. 3) Trailer Sailor and Weekend Series continuation? 4) Any other issues?

She Sails Races The final “She Sails” race for Yachts is on Sunday 20 March at Wangi,with a handicap start commencing at 12 noon. Please come along and give the girls ago and have a fun day. Commodores Call February 2022 Australia Day Regatta was once again a huge success with over 50 boats competing. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thanks to the RSL club for sponsoring the event and of course all the volunteers that helped organise and run the event, especially our PRO Phil Mayo.

Happy New Year to you all and let’s hope 2022 will be better than 2021. A big thanks to all the people that helped organise the club Christmas Party and the crew behind the scenes that helped with the New Year’s Eve Wangi Community Fireworks. Both events were a huge success.

Too windy, too light, too rainy, I’m over climate change. Throw in COVID and I can’t wait for 2022, however we still have a few good things happening to finish the year off.

Sailing is now underway Pointscore racing for yachts is now underway which has been strongly welcomed by sailors. Just a reminder that the onus is on skippers to comply with the ever changing COVID restrictions. Now that travel restrictions on Sydney & Central Coast residents has been lifted, we are able to welcome back a few more boats and crews.
