COVID Restrictions for Sailing

Our sailing club has been advised through official channels that from Monday 11 October, there is no restriction on the number of people that can be on a boat (other than the capacity specified on the Australian Builder Plate).

However, all adults over 16 must be fully vaccinated.

If the person is not vaccinated, then they are the only one allowed on the boat unless others are from the same household.

Sailors from outside our LGA will now be permitted to come to Lake Macquarie, but this does not includethe Central Coast or Greater Sydney at this stage.

People can go sailing for recreational purposes and training, however at this stage clubs are still not allowed to hold formal races.

Once NSW reaches the 80% fully vaccinated level, which hopefully should be in 2 or 3 weeks, it is proposed community sport will be allowed to recommence which would include sailing races.
