COVID-19 impact on WASC

In light of recent developments regarding COVID-19 and government restrictions and recommendations, and after consultation with WASC Officials, it has been decided to cancel both the “Learn to Sail” Program and Junior sailing for the rest of the season.

“Off the Beach” sailing for OKs and 505s and Yacht sailing will go ahead this weekend as normal, however it will be re-accessed next week.

Sunday’s rescheduled Ladies Day Race will still go ahead, however there will be no formal function after the race, maybe just a couple of drinks in the RSL beer garden. Race starts 1pm and will be sailed on one of the twilight courses. The ladies don’t have to steer as each boat only needs to have a lady on board.

There is a lot of misinformation about COVID-19, so I recommend you refer to the Government’s Department of Health recommendations which can be found using the following link:

Please be sensible about this and keep safe
