Combined Lakefest Twilight Race

This year as part of our Friday Night Twilight (Tom Crowley) series we will be joined with boats from other clubs on 2 occasions. The first combined twilight race will be on Friday 28 Jan and the second on Friday 11 Feb. Both races will start on the water between Fishing Point & Coal Point, however the first race will finish at LMYC and second race will finish at Wangi. In both cases crews will be invited back to either LMYC or Wangi RSL for social drinks and prizes at the end of the race. All Wangi boats already entered in our current Friday night series don’t need to re-enter as this will be done automatically. Other boats wishing to enter can do so online as casual entries

Commodores Ball

With the support of Lake Macquarie City Council, Wangi Sailing Club is hosting the annual Commodores Ball this year. It will be held at the newly renovated Rathmines Théâtreon Saturday 19 February 2022.

The Ball is a fund-raising event for the Cancer Council, and we are fortunate to have Iain Jensen, Olympic Gold & Silver Medalist, America’s Cup and Sail GP sailor, and more importantly a cancer survivor coming along as our guest of honor. Iain will share his story with us all along with some exciting video clips. Guests will be given free champagne on arrival and a couple of bottles of wine per table during the fully catered meal. Further drinks can be purchased at the bar during the evening. We also have popular band, who will provide live music and entertain us for the rest of the night.

Numbers are limited, so ticket must be purchased online via the sailing club website under “Social Events”, or using the following linkhttps://wangisailingclub.yachting.org.au/eventsregister/122932/
