Everyone who attended the St Patrick's Trivia Night last Saturday appeared to have enjoyed the night. Thanks to all who helped to make that event a success!
She Sails - WASC sailors, you have excelled with Oceans, taking out first place overall!!
The current series are close to the end, and the podium positions are still up for grabs.
- Jimmy Alan – Two more sailing events are left in the series, which is closely contested by Windwood (17) and Dreamweaver (23),
- Tom Crowley – Only one more sail to go. Oceans is currently winning with 23 points, closely followed by Magpie with 28. The last sail (March 28th is the crew’s race. This is where the crew can get even for all of the irrational bullying given by the skippers.
- RKR – WASC has 8 boats entered and there is 1 race left this coming Saturday. The overall results have not updated on the LMYC site due to an IT issue. Endgame was our top boat on the last results published.
- WASC RKR – Bling is leading Division 1, Dreamweaver is leading Division 2, and Snappy One is very close behind.
- Windward Leeward – WASC only has three entries this year: Yes Chef, Bling and Snappy One.
- Scratch Series – Div 1 is being led by Yes Chef, closely followed by Run Rabbit. Div 2 has Dreamweaver in the lead, with Incy Wincy close behind.
- Pursuit Series – Yes Chef is also leading this series in Division 1, with Oceans in a close second. Spindrift has Division 2 all but sewn up.
- Sunday Series – Spindrift is also winning this event

As we all know, keeping the bottoms of our boats clean is very important to the longevity of the boat and the sailing performance. Akin Alarga is an experienced diver offering hull cleaning and underwater inspections. Akin has approached us and has included the following introduction regarding his service. I can recommend him personally with Firsty Work going from last with no clean to first after the clean. Akin also provided before and after photos.
Akin is offering Club members a 10% discount if we can get four or more boats together to be cleaned on the same day. His price will vary depending on the amount of work needed to clean the hull; I found his price very reasonable. He is available on Friday, the 28th of March, from 9:00 a.m. at the RSL jetty. He is also happy to go to your mooring; however, he will need someone to take him to it. If anyone is interested, please let Akin know.
