Changes to Sailing Instructions No. 1 and No. 2 (date posted 15 Oct 2023)
- Item 8.1 of the Yachts Sailing Instructions 2023-24 refers to the courses being in accordance with Attachment A. There are two Attachment A's listed on the Wangi Amateur Sailing Club's website one in black and white and the other in colour. The two attachments have different titles which have lead to confusion by sailors. Both attachments have been re-titled to: Weekday & Winter Courses and Weekend Spring & Summer Courses. The Jimmy Allen, Tom Crowley, Achenar, Commordore's Cup and Wednesday Barcroft series will follow the Weekday & Winter Courses. The Scratch, Pursuit and Weekend series will follow courses listed on the Weekend Spring and Summer Courses. The courses themselves have not changed, only the titles on the two Attachment A's.
- Item 8.2 has been amended to include language where a Race Officer is not available to select the course for the day's race and is replaced by the following:
- No later than the warning signal the race committee will display a numeral pennant / board on the official flagpole, (or its base) or the deck of WASC or on the committee boat which will indicate the course number to be sailed. Where the race committee is not available, the course will be nominated by one of the competitors (to be chosen by the Club Secretary or Rear Commodore) not later than 13:00 on the day of the event. The course will be communicated to all registered skippers by SMS and announced over VHF radio using Channel 77 at or around 13:00 and a second time at least 5 minutes before the Warning Signal.
