Radio Controlled Yacht Racing (DF65)
Dragon Force 65 (DF65) yachts are the fastest growing one design class in the world.
They are now raced at over 50 clubs in Australia with 1100 boats registered to race there have been over 50,000 boats sold world wide.
They evolved from the RG65 development class RC yacht in 2013 into a one design class which is manufactured by Joysway and sold exclusively in Australia by Hobbywharehouse in Melbourne. They are 650mm long, 1300mm high and a draft of 400mm.
They are sold as a kit with everything needed to race including carbon fibre spars and mylar sails, stand and controller for $250, only needing a couple of hours assembly using well written instructions. There are lots of assembly, tuning and racing videos on Youtube. They can be carried across the back seat of your car unlike most of the other RC Yachts which cost 10 times more.

We sail at the RSL jetty if the wind is not a NE-E over 18 knots. At our mini regatta type race days we try to get in 10 races over 2 hours so if you get a bad start there is always the next race.
Come and have a talk to the WASC sailors and have a try.
